Atlantis – has it been found?
The latest satellite technology, DNA evidence, and a more accurate translation of Plato’s work, has revealed convincing evidence that the legendary island was actually in the Mediterranean Sea, just few kilometers north of the Greek island of Santorini.
More accurately, the latest study confirms that, around 9600 BC when, according to Plato, the story of Atlantis took place, many of the Cyclades Islands were connected by a flat terrain, today called the “Cyclades Plateau.”
This now 400 feet underwater plateau formed the body of a large island, while the modern islands of Cyclades fashioned rows of mountains that emerged in all the “right places”, when comparing those to Plato’s story.
The northern portion of the sunken island is comprised of mountains which reached the shores. There is an oblong valley directly below this mountainous region, and a second valley, closer to the center of the island that is two thirds the size of the oblong valley. Also, Santorini, a setting of an island within an island, and a place where many scholars in the past had placed the crown-city of Atlantis, falls within 9 km from the grand-island, and precisely as Plato claimed.

In regards to Atlantis, I truly believe that Plato created a moral fable around a real setting and a prehistoric civilization known to ancient Greeks, just as Homer did before him with the “mythical” city of Troy. Obviously, the fact that we still question whether this story is real, is due to the fact that no theory (amongst hundreds of the them) or past “discovery” produced tangible evidence, or a matching site for that matter, to convince us that Atlantis was ever real. Until NOW!
In 2013, after more than 4 years of research, and rather accidentally, I was able to locate a sunken island that flawlessly matches Plato’s Atlantis. The chronology, every physical aspect of the topography, the volcanic geology, the flora and fauna in that period, the island’s destruction by a “great flood”, archaeological remnants of an unknown prehistoric civilization in the immediate area, and most importantly DNA evidence, all point to a genuine discovery.
